It’s been a while since I blogged and the year is almost over. Well, I’ve been wanting to write this for a while but haven’t gotten around to it. To this day, it still amazes me how many people can’t drive. Well, in fact, I’m not that amazed, the majority of this world are imbeciles anyway. I spend the average of 2 hours a day on the road, on a work day, well if I’m lucky, I get a little less, but for more times than not I get stuck on the freeway for more. On the contrary to how I usually behave, I become really angry, impatient, and easily frustrated on the road, the correct word I would use is really belligerant. I guess the thing I hate most is people wasting my time. My time is for me to waste, only, that is my privilege, I think I have earned that. So anyone on the road blocking my way is my adversary. Many things ticks me off, especially around where I live, I guess the common misconception that Asians can’t drive are true, statiscally speaking, I have talked about this many times before, since many of them are new immigrants, and they just never learned how to drive properly, and that includes my parents. Sure they have been here as long as I have and they have driven more than twice my years, but really, once you become old, you stop learning things, when you’ve never get on the freeway and drive 80 miles an hour when you were young, you are not going to learn to do it when you are old. The one thing that ticks me off the most, its on the downward slope near my house, there’s always a car in front of me, incessantly breaking, with nothing in front of it, just drives me nuts. I can never figure out why the driver can’t ride the slope down, breaking hurts the break, and wastes your gas, economically speaking, and it wastes my time. It makes me want to pass, and people who usually make others wana pass them create a space for accidents. People on the freeway who leaves a space for 3 or more cars when during traffic jam (well less than 30 miles per hour) again ticks me off. These are the people who makes traffic worse than it already is.

I am usually pretty nice about people cutting in front of me, if its a line getting on ramp to an intersection of another freeway, I let them cut in front of me is because I usually must have cut in front of somebody not too long ago. Hay if the line backs up like 2 miles ago, I dont see a reason for lining up on that lane. This one time a lady flipped a finger at me for cutting in, a lot of people are much more angrier than I am, I guess. But really, I think people who line up are losers, either that or their time is worth much less than mine, if you dont try to get ahead in life, you get left behind. If you want to line up, be content about it and dont flip any fingers. Cutting is easy, usually pick the space in front of a truck, because their acceleration speed is much slower, and they always leave a space for you. Another thing that baffles me is during a left turn, if there are 2 lanes for the left turn, sometimes you see cars 10 cars on the right left-turn lane, and no cars on the left. This baffles me everytime when I see it, I’m sure everyone wants to turn right right after the left turn on the next block, but does anyone not care that they won’t make the next light, or even the next next, and u have to wait at least 3 more minutes. I guess time is not worth the same to everyone. That’s why I bought a car with fast accerlation, but even if I did have a slow car, I’d still get on the left lane and take a chance of maybe not being able to turn right on the next block. In fact, the only time I would line up on the right is if there were only 2 more cars on the right than the left than I may think the effort of changing lane is not justified. Maybe I think too much, but I always work out a statistic formula everytime I hit a red light, if all the lanes are occupied and I can’t be the first car. I always follow the car which is statiscally more likely to be faster. I’m usually 90% right, and if I picked the wrong car that one time, I’d want to hit myself.

I guess while other people’s action baffles me, mine really baffles my mom. She really doenst understand why I’m always in a rush when I drive. She will never understand because I drive more in a day than her in a month. If I lose 5 min a day driving slow, those time really stacks up. She doesnt understand why I take the freeway just to go one block and I always drive until the gas tank is empty. She told me once that she feels uncomfortable driving the car when the gas is less than 1/4. If I did that, I most likely have to get gas every other day. Hay, I guess, time is worth differently to everybody. Some people make millions in a second, and some people make minimum wage. My dad this one time spent 2 hours driving to change a flat tire because he couldnt remove one of the screws. I called triple A and the guy did it in 2 minutes, and it was free anyway. Time is woth differently to everybody I guess, perhaps removing the flat tire for 2 hours was the highlight of my dad’s day, perhaps some people enjoy getting stuck on the road, for me, hay, I have better things to do.
