Cogito, Ergo Sum

Latin, for I think therefore I am, something we do everyday, thinking, of why we exist, why we are here, or simply what we are. That’s what the Anime Ergo Proxy is about, about realizing you’re nothing more than a tool with a defined purpose, and deciding to break from the mold to discover/become a different self of your own choosing. I finished watching that last night, and it made me think. I have a lot of anime episodes at home, and I dont watch all of them, most of them are crap, some of them are better than average, but its worth it to just take the time to sort out the rest of the stuff the find this one gem. I was confused after watching it, espeically since I watched in segments, but then I looked up blogs that explained the story, and what people thought, and I was awed by it. Just the title of the anime, the theme, every episode title, character names, easter eggs that appear, hold a reference to something else, be it philosophy, science fiction, children’s fable, even disneyland…, so much thoughts that the creator of the show put in, its worth talking, or thinking about.
Someone wrote about does game need to be fun the other day, the author said that fun is something for a kid, a game can be thought-inspiring, like art. I totally agree, like I did not have fun watching Ergo Proxy for most of the time, I was confused, perplexed, and didnt even know what I watched. But it made me think, and learn something about life, and thats not time wasted. After all time is precious, the worst thing there is is to waste time, unless u had a lot of it, and it is worthless. I finished playing Okami the other day, which is I have to say, the best game ever, if there is one game you have to play in your life time, that is the game. It was fun too, but it trescended fun and entertainment, it had so much style in it, it became an artform of its own. It totally changed my view towards any next generation consoles, because Okami has achieved perfection, and you realize, why we are still chasing technology, to have better graphics, cell processors, blue-ray HD-DVD storage? Okami didnt have all that, but it was perfect, and anything more, would have been less. Nintendo was our gaming’s past, perhaps nintendo will once again be the answer to our gaming future. Which led me to want to short some Sony stocks (I dont even have a margin account), and it kept on going down to 38 from 40s when I said I think it would go down, after reading that article that sony will bankrupt from producing PS3s. Well I think it was an exaggeration, but still I am more interested to see what the Wii can do. Hay, it seems like I waste a lot of time, but I think, there fore I am.
